Gis: Giornate Italiane del Sollevamento e dei Trasporti Eccezionali
Immagine di jcomp su FreepikGIS¹ , an acronym for Giornate Italiane del Sollevamento e dei Trasporti Eccezionali (Italian Days of Lifting and HGV Transport), is an international trade fair dedicated to material lifting, working at heights, industrial and port handling and HGV transport.
The ninth edition of GIS will take place from 5 to 7 October 2023 at the Piacenza Expo exhibition centre. The fair, which hosts more than 400 exhibitors from all over the world and attracts around 20,000 visitors per edition, is now established as a reference event for the latest technological innovations and the most innovative solutions on the market.
The fair is divided into several themed areas:
- Lifting: cranes, aerial platforms, telehandlers, forklift trucks, industrial and port lifting equipment.
- Handling: machines and equipment for industrial and port handling, mechanized logistics and heavy transport.
- HGV transport: : solutions and services for the transport of goods and large equipment.
GIS also offers a program of side events, including conferences, seminars, workshops and practical demonstrations.
Among these we would like to highlight the contribution of INAIL (National Institute for Insurance against Accidents at Work) in the speeches scheduled for Thursday 5 October on topics relating to safety at work and, more specifically, on the subject of periodic inspections and the use of innovative technologies in the training and instruction of operators.
For some years now, the Institute has been engaged in an intense research activity, which makes use of the design and prototype realization of new-generation devices. This with the aim of assessing the usability of new technologies, such as virtual and augmented reality, for the prevention of individual, collective and environmental risk and for controlling the danger of both ‘traditional’ and ’emerging’ accidents and injuries.
An issue that is as topical and urgent as ever, in a constantly evolving scenario in which Industry 4.0 must be able to combine technological innovation and work safety, adopting the most advanced tools to improve the protection of workers’ health.
