Wire : This is the main constitutive element in steel cables and it is obtained by means of wire-drawing.

Strand:

This is the spiral winding of wires around a central metal core, or a staple fibre core by means of plaiting.

 

Rope:

By steel cables we mean the winding of many strands  wrapped around a metal or fibre core using a process of closing. This object  like any other mechanical object, must be chosen in relation to its future use in order to obtain the best results. It is only trough the complete understanding of the conditions of use, of the stress and the nature of the work allow the most situable cable to be chosen.
